Description
A very popular pizzeria/restaurant on Hanover Street in Boston's North End neighborhood.
No one should visit Boston and not stroll down Hanover St. It is the center of Little Italy and, in many ways, the real heart of Boston.
The street is one of the oldest in Boston, and was originally an Indian path, allowing access to the shore, prior to the first European settlement. In the seventeenth century, the street was called Orange Tree Lane.
In 1708 the Street the named "Hanover" after the British House of Hanover. In 1824, North Street and the former Middle Street became part of Hanover. In the 1960s a large section of the street was demolished to make way for the construction of Government Center. The Street is now home to many Italian Americans, businesses, cafes, churches, and Italian restaurants.
