Description
This giant iron Japanese Lantern in the Boston Public Garden sits atop a natural stone that was taken from a quarry in Rockport, Massachusetts.
It was given to the city of Boston as a gift from a well known Japanese antique dealer.
It was restored and placed on the west side of the lagoon in 1993.
The spring time trees with new pink buds frame the lantern as the city of Boston just beyond the garden makes for a picturesque background.

Great shot of the lantern. This location has very special meaning for me; my wife and I chose this spot for our elopement ceremony. Truly a magnificent spot, and yr picture captures it.
